This woman is arrogant and very difficult to deal with. She doesn't listen, makes assumptions based on who knows what and takes no responsibility for errors in filing. We had decided not to use her for 2021, but because she had done previous year's taxes we took the simplest path and went to her again. Our filing (her work) for 2021 did not include our residential solar tax credit. As a result of her oversight we paid $3049 in taxes that should have been wiped out by the credit. I discovered the error when we stuck to our original decision not to use her services for 2022. When I first called it to her attention, her attitude was that I was wrong and the necessary form had included the solar credit. It did not, but in order to prove it to her I had to get a transcript from the IRS. Once I had proof, she blamed her software company, never uttered anything resembling an apology, and created the necessary 1040x and 5695. She required my husband to sign the form, then handed him the only copy that he signed, and told him that she would e-file it. This was on or about March 20. I asked her to email me a copy of the amended return and 5695. I got a reply that said "Ok Password is: Poz@1859" with no attachment or link of any sort--what the hell was this?? If she did indeed e-file it as she indicated she would, it would have been on or about 3/20/23. The IRS suggests it takes 3 weeks to show up in their system. So far, 5 weeks later, there is no indication that it has been filed. I have requested some sort of proof from Ms. Ferro that she efiled it first 11 days ago and again two days ago and have been ignored. We have both acknowledged that we wlll not be doing business with each other in the future, but does she not have some sort of obligation to provide details of what actual work she has done. I am left with a $3000 plus refund that is in limbo because she won't respond to my simple question. I know as a real estate professional for over 30 years, I remain responsible for errors and omissions for my work, even in retirement. I can mail the return to the IRS, but I don't know what chaos receiving the form twice, if it has been efiled, will cause with the IRS.
