I havn’t paid taxes in like 6 years, and now I owe the IRS, Mom says I should try an offer in compromise. What is that?

It’s like making an assessment of your taxes and what your worth is, and then making payments to resolve your taxes

That what you file for on the IRS website, but nobody I know has ever been approved.

An offer in compromise is an agreement between a taxpayer and the IRS that settles a taxpayer’s tax liabilities for less than the full amount owed.

An offer in compromise is a good deal if you meet the requirements. You must talk to the IRS or gain this info on their website.
